Personalised URL Website Design for EDF Energy

When EDF Energy upgraded their systems software it presented the perfect opportunity to give their customers a more streamlined and personal service through online management of their account information.

This integrated campaign combined direct mail and a PURL (personalised URL) microsite. At Clarion we designed and developed the front-end user interface of the ‘My Account’ microsite before handover to the EDF IT team for database integration via their account management system.

Every customer received their personalised direct mail pack carrying their unique PURL, giving them direct and secure access to their own personalised web pages and account information such as statements, payment plans and general account management services. More generic site content such as video is tailored to specific audience groups through behavioural targeting.

The PURL solution delivers great opportunities to tailor bespoke website content to individual users, perhaps based on their general behaviour, past purchases or previous content viewed. Journeys can be tracked from end-to-end so measures of success for any activity can be accurately recorded, delivering valuable insights for ongoing marketing activity.
